Mission
Island City Opera is committed to bringing high-quality, professional opera productions to Alameda and the East Bay community in an intimate setting at affordable prices so that veteran opera-goers and newcomers alike can be immersed in the excitement and wonder of opera, up-close.
We present the established masterpieces, the rare gems and the exotic creations to broaden the experience of opera. We are a showcase for talented working artists, and, young developing artists and technical theater personnel. We hire students from our community to give them their first taste technical theater and a great, early work experience.
The gracious support and effort of Island City Opera’s donors, patrons, and, volunteers, as well as, the dedication of our artists makes this possible.
