| Jonathan Khuner, Island City Opera’s Music Director for our comic production of La Sonnambula in March 2018, leads our musical offering featuring Island City Opera stars for our 2018 Season. Anders Froehlich, our Count Rodolfo for La Sonnambula set in a Tyrolean village, trained in both voice and ballet. Coincidentally, of Austrian descent, Anders performs with the San Francisco Opera, Los Angeles Opera and Opera San Jose singing roles such as Eugene Onegin, Don Giovanni, and, notably, the role of Paul Gauguin in the American premiere of Fabrizio Carlone’s Bonjour M. Gauguin with West Edge Opera. Sergio Gonzalez returns to Island City Opera as Elvino in La Sonnambula. Sergio is a San Francisco Conservatory of Music graduate. His repertoire includes Gastone in Verdi’s La Traviate, Count Almaviva in Barber of Seville, Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte, Lindoro in L’Italiana in Algeri, and, Trin in La Fanciulla del West. |
